Good Sams
Good Sams provide services on a short-term basis to parishioners who need help during times of illness or other emergencies. They provide meals, rides, visitation and other help, and last year helped over 150 parishioners.
Part of Good Sams, the families with infants and toddlers ministry assists families with young children, and families expecting a new baby. Volunteers provide rides to the doctor, meals, child care so mom has time for a nap or bubble bath! Please contact the office if you need a helping hand while preparing for your newest member of the family.
To request a visit, meal or other service, please contact the Church Office or send an email to: pastoralcare@stpaulswc.org.
Healing Ministry
The Healing Ministry continues to grow at St. Paul's, with regular meetings, a Healing Eucharist the 2nd Monday of each month in addition to the laying on of hands at each Sunday's main service. The healing prayer group meets on the 1st and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the Livingston Conference room.
Hospital Visitors
In addition to healing prayer during services, our pastoral care programs are broad and welcoming, with many participating in the various ministry opportunities. Our hospital ministry team members visit John Muir Hospital on a regular basis, calling on all who have registered as Episcopalian upon admission to the hospital, and we hope to resume our ministry at Kaiser Hospital, which is also in Walnut Creek.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
LEVs are commissioned to take communion to several housebound or hospitalized parishioners. These visits include an abbreviated service using the day's readings and prayers, as well as time for visitation, if appropriate. The congregation sends them out with a special prayer at the end of the service.
To request a visit, meal or other service, please contact the Church Office or send an email to: pastoralcare@stpaulswc.org.
LEV Training Event: June 9th in the Parish Hall at 8:30 a.m. This training is for those that wish to become Lay Eucharistic Visitors and have already had LEM training. Please register with the office.
Prayer Network
A large group of dedicated prayer network members communicate via telephone and e-mail and pray for all whose names are submitted to the parish office. This ongoing activity has been a strong force for many years at St. Paul's. Those who wish to be, are listed in our weekly bulletin.
To request a visit or a prayer, call the Church Office 925-934-2324 or send an email to prayernetwork@stpaulswc.org.
