St Paul's Online Used Book Sales
St. Paul's is selling used books online through Alibris.com. The used books being sold have been donated to the church. Currently there are 350 books listed, with more to be added.
The initial response so far has been encouraging. In the last two weeks, 8 books have been sold for a total of $94, which is much more than could be expected through offering them for sale to members. In addition to the sale price, we receive the shipping fee, but have to pay commissions and fees back to the site, and have expenses of postage and packaging, so the current net revenue runs about 90% of the sale price.
Although many of the books currently listed are the rarer, more valuable, and esoteric books that may not be of general interest (with a few recently published books that may have higher value), the plan is in the near future to let the congregation, deanery, and diocese (and beyond?) know about the availability of these books. The books are currently available without the shipping charge (but including sales tax) if ordered directly from us and picked up at the church.
Currently the best way to see the books available is to go to Stpaulsbooks.alibrisstores.com
The category list shown for our store does not include all available books, but do an Advanced Search for Keyword "all".
The resulting book list can be sorted by title, author, price, etc.
In order to keep the venture going, we are looking for reusable packaging materials in good condition. If you have suitable padded envelopes, small book-sized boxes, or bubble wrap, contact David Mattern.
