With over 90 references to compassion in the scriptures, it is said that the whole Bible is a book on compassion. We are told to respond to others needs, bear each other's burdens and do unto others, as we would have them do unto us. This is a very tall order indeed. The call to draw the circle wide has always been challenging but never more than in our 21st century global village. Cultivating open hearts and minds that reflect the flow of God's love is the journey of a lifetime. It begins with cultivating compassion toward one self, a practice many women have not been encouraged to develop. Our time together this weekend will combine concepts and practices to experience God's deep love for each of us in order to more fully embody that love in the world.
